Why watch this film?

The dilemmas, prejudices and misunderstandings of religion in Brazil, often come close to what happens with racial prejudice. There are many beliefs, all with their particularities and intimacies. In 'Amarração do Amor', we get a little closer to these faith differences that exist in the immensity of Brazil with a microcosm of a couple. On one side, Bebel has a family that believes in Umbanda -- with a remarkable performance by Cacau Protásio in this segment. On the other, Lucas sees his family trying to strengthen the Jewish belief with an spectacular performance by Ary França. From there, with that typical Brazilian comedy atmosphere, we see these families trying to direct the belief, celebrations and faith of this young couple, as if it were a rereading of 'Romeo and Juliet's Wedding'.
