Why watch this film?
Generally, Brazilian comedies go in a similar direction, walking a line between besteirol and comedy of manners. That's why it's so interesting to see what's on screen with 'Missão Cupido'. After the political drama 'Real: O Plano por Trás da História', filmmaker Rodrigo Bittencourt lightens the tone by telling the story of Miguel (Lucas Salles), an angel whose main mission is to help his ward on Earth, Rita (Isabella Santoni) after prophesying that she will not find a suitor -- in addition to having to race against time, since Death (Agatha Moreira) tries to seduce the woman to break the angel's prophecy. The aesthetics of 'Missão Cupido' jump out at you, with jokes about photography, color palette and even intelligent animations throughout the film, which make sense in the last scene we see on the screen. The cast is also good, giving lightness to the story. Absolute highlight for Rafael Infante as a kind of Almighty and for Santoni ('A Lei do Amor'), who steals the attention for herself.
