Why watch this film?
'Awake' is an apocalypse movie with a general concept that clearly draws inspiration from movies like 'Bird Box' or 'A Quiet Place'. However, it lacks a certain polish in its development for the story to stand out. The main idea has original traces and starts from an interesting point, but the script gets lost in clichés and repetitions, failing to handle its base material well. Not everything is negative, however. The cinematography stands out with well-placed and eye-catching shots, offering the movie more personality and avoiding generic visuals. Combined with it, the editing does a dynamic job, and thus the action scenes are fluid and visible, ensuring good entertainment. Gina Rodriguez ('Annihilation') carries the movie with a strong and very competent performance.

Rebel Moon - Part Two: The Scargiver
It was said about the first installment, and it can be said about Netflix's Rebel Moon (Part Two): it is a movie that only Zack Snyder fans will enjoy. The film continues to be a copy of the classic 'Seven Samurai', but in space: our heroes, led by Kora (Sofia Boutella), return to their small agricultural moon to prepare the defense against the invaders from the Empire. The story unfolds in a predictable manner (even more so if you've seen Kurosawa's classic), with Snyder's usual stylistic vices: overuse of slow motion and gratuitous Christian symbolism. If you liked the previous one (or the director's other movies), you will undoubtedly enjoy it. Otherwise, it might be better to skip it.
