Why watch this film?

After Nicolas Cage gets caught up in a plot of animatronic dolls and excessive violence in 'Willy's Wonderland', the feature film 'Judy & Punch' follows the curious story of a couple of puppeteers living in the cruel city of Seaside, where executions and witch hunts take place all the time. In an attempt to escape this reality, they decide to invest in remounting the traditional puppet show called Punch and Judy - and, again, with a journey full of violence. There is courage in the way the debut director Mirrah Foulkes approaches the story, who knows how to mix good social criticism with a striking visual. It's just worth saying that, for the strength of the story and the violence that flows from the screen, despite the puppet show, it's best to prepare for the unexpected blood that appears here and there, always with an engaging script by Foulkes. Finally, a highlight for Mia Wasikowska, again in a role of strangeness in cinema.
