If you like Japanese animations such as 'Your Name' and 'Túmulo dos Vagalumes', the feature film 'Cider no yô ni kotoba ga wakiagaru' can also be a surefire entertainment for you. Directed by Kyohei Ishiguro, the production moves with the delicacy of the story about the romance between a boy who wears headphones and haiku poems and a shy girl who only makes online videos wearing a mask. Despite some aesthetic and narrative choices following a path already seen in cinema, Ishiguro hits the mark in the way of treating the theme with the sensitivity that is always seen in this type of Japanese cinema animation. The ideal here is to embark on the love of the story.

However, when he finally gathers the courage to confess, she falls for Billie Walsh, a handsome and athletic exchange student. The story is predictable and, except for a Netflix Sex Education-like layer of paint, there's not much new. However, it's a good contender for a Gen Z classic.
The Taste of Things
From Vietnamese-French director Anh Hung Tran (The Scent of Green Papaya) and starring the legendary Juliette Binoche and Benoît Magimel, The Taste of Things was France's selection for the 2024 Oscars, although it was not nominated. Set in 1889 and based on the character of Dodin-Bouffant created by Marcel Rouff, the story follows a chef (Magimel) enchanted by his cook (Binoche), for whom he feels not only culinary admiration, but genuine love. However, she is not ready to take the step into marriage and is happy and content with the relationship they have. Sensual in its visuality and narrative, it is a powerful story of love and about love, which, while not entirely breaking free from conventions, is elevated by the formidable talent of its protagonists.
