Trailer

Why watch this film?

Social isolation and survival struggle against a parasite, and to make matters worse: at sea! This is the premise of 'Sea Fever', directed by Neasa Hardiman (known for her directing work on various series, with a highlight for 'Jessica Jones'). The movie tells the story of a crew off the west coast of Ireland who find themselves stranded at sea and, when a parasite infiltrates the water supply, they must fight for their lives. This feature is a horror inspired by films like 'The Thing' or 'Alien' and, in this way, deals with themes such as isolation, distrust, paranoia, in addition to making an obvious parallel with the moment we are living in the world. For those who like horror films that follow this style it is a great choice, since the production bets a lot on its atmosphere, does not appeal to graphic content and received praise at its premiere at the Toronto Festival, in 2019.
