Why watch this film?

Leandro Lara made a beautiful directing job in 'Rodantes'. As a newcomer in the direction of fictional feature films, the Minas Gerais native surprises with a consistent and creative command. He has consistency and passion in what he does on screen. After all, he is in every corner of 'Rodantes'. The feature film, which follows three people in a chaotic process of change, is inspired by notes and observations that the filmmaker made on his travels. That is: the characters interpreted very well by Caroline Abras, Jonathan Well and Félix Smith are not real, but inspirations from the world around them. From this, we practically follow 'Rodantes' making us dive into a real purgatory, from contemporary Brazil, in which this trio of characters does not move. Tatiane, Abras' character, resorts to prostitution not only to survive, but also to have something to cling to. Well runs away from his own shadow. And the Haitian, Smith, tries to plant his roots. In this cauldron of extremely real characters, we get to know the feelings and emotions that arise. After all, Lara does not give everything at once. He goes little by little, giving sporadic flavors of what those characters are feeling, suffering, going through. All this with a curious, well-fragmented narrative experimentation.

Plot summary

Rodantes is a film adrift, as its characters, which is not based on objective or formalistic issues, but in poetry that exists only in those stories and images that do not end.
