Why watch this film?

After titles like 'A Onda' and 'O Túnel', Nordic cinema once again shows that it knows how to work with genre cinema in the intense 'Den blomstertid nu kommer'. Directed by Victor Danell (from 'Gilla'), who also co-writes the film alongside protagonist Christoffer Nordenrot ('A Man Called Ove'), the feature film shows a Sweden in trouble. After all, the European country is facing a possible apocalypse with a mysterious attack. At the focus of 'Den blomstertid nu kommer', however, is Alex (Nordenrot), a young man who must return to his hometown, where he will have to deal with his father and even reencounter an old love. That is: it is the same style of cinema as 'A Onda', when family dramas are mixed with dangerous situations that put the production on the path of action cinema. Good for entertainment, but going well beyond the simple running of the end of the world scenario.
