Why watch this film?
"A Yellow Animal" is a film directed by Rio de Janeiro native Felipe Bragança and produced in Brazil, Portugal, and Mozambique. It tells the story of Fernando, a Brazilian filmmaker who is bankrupt. He grows up haunted by memories of his grandfather and also by a Mozambican spirit that promises him great wealth. Pursued by the political and cultural state of Brazil, Fernando dives deep into his journey of adventures and miracles to uncover his past. It's a film that embraces our culture a lot, since Fernando is a filmmaker that represents the average Brazilian full of dreams and trying to deal with a country that is increasingly distant from its culture and cinema. It's touching and very personal, while expressing a collective feeling of frustration and disappointment with the lack of perspective for those who make art in Brazil (and not only).
