Why watch this film?
Disney takes us to Colombia in 'Encanto', in a fictional city that looks like a park created by Mickey Mouse's company. Everything is incredibly charming and in this setting. We are introduced to the Madrigal family, who is responsible for all the magic of the region. Directed by the trio Byron Howard, Jared Bush (who had already worked on 'Zootopia') and Charise Castro Smith, it brings a very beautiful story about the importance of our family relationships - a topic that is not new in animation productions, but here it gets a new approach. Another theme that has become recurrent is acceptance, a great focus of the film since the main character, Mirabel, is the only one without special abilities in a family where even the house is magical. 'Encanto' is, pardon the pun, enchanting and has one of the best soundtracks in the animation universe. Lin-Manuel Miranda ('Hamilton', 'tick, tick...BOOM') is the composer of the songs - and he rarely disappoints.
