Why watch this film?

"Found" is a dramatic documentary about three teenagers born in China who were adopted by different American families. One day, they meet through social media and discover through a DNA test that they are part of the same biological family. Thus, the three travel to China and search for their biological parents. This was very common in China, as between 1979 and 2015 the Chinese government implemented a law that only allowed one child per family, aiming to control population growth. This law caused many Chinese mothers to have to give their children up for adoption abroad, and thus, many Chinese children grew up far from their biological parents. The film portrays exactly the journey of these three teenagers in their search for their families, as well as the search for identity, discovery, and connection with their culture. It is a film of extreme cultural strength and emotional power.
