Why watch this film?

Before achieving success with the horror fantasy 'Good Manners', filmmaker Marco Dutra scared (and surprised!) many people with the horror 'When I Was Alive', adapted from a novel by Lourenço Mutarelli ('The Smell of the Drain'). With remarkable performances by Marat Descartes and Antônio Fagundes, the feature film follows the story of a man who moves back in with his father after separating and who suddenly finds himself involved in an absurd plot. Featuring Sandy in the cast as well, 'When I Was Alive' stands out for its disturbing story and, mainly, for its unique production design - notice how the items scattered around the father and son's apartment change as the situation worsens, as does the photography which takes on reddish tones. A good example of Brazilian horror, with a psychological terror approach that should please.
