Why watch this film?

Released in 2006, 'KM 31: Kilómetro 31' is one of the biggest box office successes to have come out of Mexican horror cinema, and with several merits: for a national production, it's a movie with good special effects for its time. Riding the wave of supernatural horror films like 'The Ring' (as well as its Japanese original), the movie draws inspiration from Mexican folklore legends like 'La Llorona', in addition to always popular ghost stories on the road. The result is something a bit weak and not very original, but certainly offers some good scares that can surprise neophyte fans of the genre.
