Ghost Tropic

A tired cleaning worker's journey home on foot becomes a transformative experience.

Trailer

Why watch this film?

A cleaning worker falls asleep on the last metro home and, upon waking at the end of the line, decides she has no choice but to walk back. The premise of 'Ghost Tropic' is as simple as its production is minimalist and its narrative pace is slow. But don't be fooled by the simplicity, for this Belgian film from director Bas Devos (winner of the Best International Film Award at the 2019 Guanajuato Film Festival) hides a powerful beauty comparable to those small life anecdotes that, although they seem mundane, become experiences that mark. It is a contemplative film that can challenge the patience of viewers looking for something more moving, but patience is rewarded with a series of encounters that are revealing.
