Why watch this film?
This is a full-fledged "feel good movie", a French comedy-drama about the love between parents and children. Theo (Maleaume Paquin), a child with great aptitudes for football, tells a small lie to get his father, Laurent (François Damiens) out of a deep depression and give him a bit of hope to break free from his routine, which consists of spending the day in bars complaining about his bad luck and showing up drunk to see his son's matches. As his father's dream is for him to become a professional player, he tells him that he has been signed for the youth squad of Arsenal, in London. "A Small Lie," Julien Rappeneau's second work, is an optimistic film that can be enjoyed by the whole family.
