Why watch this film?

Trash horror movies still exist and have social critiques as a backdrop. 'Bad Hair' is a sharp-humored feature film written, directed and produced by Justin Simien, the same director of 'Dear White People'. With a very sarcastic script, Simien weaves here a reflection on prejudice. In the plot, a young woman wants to work on a music program on TV, in the late 1980s. But her career only starts to take off after she puts in a weave - which has a thirst for blood. With a cast formed by Elle Lorraine, Jay Pharoah, Lena Waithe, Kelly Rowland, Laverne Cox, Usher and Vanessa Williams, 'Bad Hair' is a fun, daring production that breaks away from what has been presented in the world of horror.
