Why watch this film?
The last thing Eddie Mills (Larry Clarke) wants to do is go home and help his dying father. Nevertheless, he has no choice: he takes a plane and goes back home. Once there, he has to deal with his crazy family and is forced to face a past he has been running away from for a long time. A typical American comedy about "families on the brink of a nervous breakdown", the production bets on some clichés of comedy that can be quite tiring, mainly due to the monotony of the situations. Still, the good performances of Clarke and JK Simmons make up for it and can bring good laughs, as well as some good dramatic reflections: what is, really, family? What is its importance? 3 Days with Dad is a movie that explores these questions.
