Why watch this film?

Modern Mexican horror cinema has managed to distinguish itself from the international scene, especially for its results achieved with a limited budget and an ambitious story that is resolved by a creative team up to the task. Mal de ojo does justice to that tradition, managing to also draw on all those legends of witchcraft that populate Mexican idiom. Its director Isaac Ezban (The Incident) is no stranger to the horror genre, and after trying his luck in the international industry, he returns to Mexico to build a horror narrative with a memorable performance by Ofelia Medina.
