Why watch this film?

Winning documentary of the Mezcal Award for Best Director (Antonio Hernández) at the Guadalajara International Film Festival. Nos hicieron noche transports us to the daily life of the town of San Marquitos, which was founded after the exodus of the Afro-Mexican community following the devastation of Charco Redondo, Oaxaca, by Cyclone Dolores in 1974. The documentary weaves several seemingly independent stories, showing us the traditions of the community and questioning the past, present, and future of Afro-Mexican communities.
