Plot summary
A psychopathic mastermind (Gerard Butler of GAMER, 300), captured for the murder of his wife's killers, threatens to unleash a gruesome killing spree across the city of Philadelphia unless he is released. The prosecuting attorney (Jamie Foxx of THE SOLOIST, THE KINGDOM) is usually a deal maker but this time stands his ground and refuses. As if on cue, innocent people start dying in horrifying ways - just as the prisoner warned. The city falls into chaos, with everyone calling for the attorney's head. Desperate, he comes to the realization that his decisions might be what created this horrifying vigilante, and he is the only one that can stop him.

It is this journey that is told in a direct and talented way in 'Straight Outta Compton'. In the feature film, despite the exaggerated 2h47 duration, director F. Gary Gray ('Fast & Furious 8') manages to imprint strength and personality in this story so important for American music and the black community living in the United States.
Men in Black: International
Fourth movie in the 'Men in Black' franchise, originally based on Malibu Comics (now part of Marvel) comics. This time, Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones' characters are out of the picture, and a story largely set in Europe takes their place. The new protagonists are played by Chris Hemsworth and Tessa Thompson, reviving the chemistry seen previously in 'Thor: Ragnarok', with a special mention to Liam Neeson's presence. Unfortunately, although entertaining, the movie fails to mimic the impact of the first 'Men in Black: International', without adding anything truly innovative or surprising. It's only worth it for the unpretentious fun and the aforementioned chemistry between the actors.
Lift
It seems that heist stories raise the bar higher and higher to impossible levels: each one must be riskier, more unbelievable, and crazier in its premise. As a perfect example, this film by F. Gary Gray (Fast and Furious 8). In Lift, we follow the thief Cyrus Whitaker (Kevin Hart, in an unusual role more inclined to action than humor), who is discovered by authorities. His only way out to avoid jail is to gather his accomplices and execute an impossible heist: stealing 500 million dollars in gold mid-flight at 12 thousand meters altitude. It's an incredible concept that, while executed in a somewhat generic manner, maintains interest in its eventual resolution and features an international cast clearly designed to appeal to audiences from all continents. Among the names, we find Gugu Mbatha-Raw (Loki), Vincent D’Onofrio (Daredevil), Spanish actress Úrsula Corberó (Money Heist), and French actor Jean Reno (The Professional), among others.
The Fate of the Furious
As with its predecessor in the saga, 'The Fate of the Furious' increases the levels of absurdity and the "massave factor" - which is when a movie seeks the most extraordinary and improbable sequences to satisfy the fan, who, of course, will punctuate the feature with exclamations like "how cool, man!" In addition, the female cast is turbocharged with the presence of Charlize Theron ('Atomic') and Helen Mirren ('RED'), transforming the franchise's cast into the biggest action movie supergroup in history. Perfect for those who just want to have fun.

Miller's Girl
Miller's Girl is a controversial thriller starring Jenna Ortega (best known for her role in Wednesday) and Martin Freeman (from The Hobbit). In the story, he plays a charismatic and intelligent teacher facing a turbulent time in his marriage, who begins to receive advances from the young student played by Ortega. From there, the film takes on a '90s vibe, with the two becoming involved without knowing how to handle the emotions that arise. The ending is somewhat outdated, placing the blame on the woman without much remorse, but it works for those looking for a film to pass the time and see how the story unfolds.
