Why watch this film?
Rogério Duarte is a great name in Brazilian culture - though not one of the most widely recognized figures. He was one of the members of Cinema Novo, which revolutionized Brazilian cinema, and Tropicalismo, the 1960s art movement that fought against the dictatorship and integrated foreign elements into Brazilian culture. In 1968, Duarte was also arrested and experienced the harsher side of the military regime: torture. Died in 2016, the legacy of Rogério Duarte still remains in works like the covers of Gal Costa, Caetano Veloso, Gilberto Gil and The Mutants LPs, as well as the posters of 'Deus e o Diabo na Terra do Sol' and 'O Desafio', among other films. A documentary to be seen and a legacy to be known.
