Why watch this film?
A claustrophobic horror, in which two sisters dive into the ocean in a cage to observe sharks - and end up trapped there, threatened by hungry animals. Part of the subgenre called "survival horror", proving that even after decades since the release of 'Jaws', these marine animals can still be very scary. The cast features Mandy Moore (the voice of Rapunzel in 'Tangled') and Claire Holt (from the series 'The Originals'). For fans of horror and suspense, it's certainly a breath-taking movie.

Plot summary
Sisters Lisa and Kate become trapped at the bottom of the ocean when a diving expedition to observe sharks goes horribly wrong. When the cable attaching the cage sinks to the bottom of the ocean, the sisters must figure out a way to get back to safety battling injuries, lack of oxygen, and worst of all, bloodthirsty, great white sharks.

"47 Meters Down: Uncaged" is the sequel to "47 Meters Down". On the one hand, it can be repetitive, as it replicates many elements in its predecessor's formula: an entirely implausible story and characters making highly questionable decisions. However, director Johannes Roberts does this effectively, as he achieves a nightmare-like underwater atmosphere full of tension. If you like more logic in your horror films, this might not be for you. But, on the contrary, if you enjoy B-movie films and extreme shark-caused situations (in the vein of 'Jaws' or the 'Sharknado' movie series), this offering will leave you more than satisfied.
Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City
The franchise of video games 'Resident Evil' hit the big screen in 2002 with 'Resident Evil: The Cursed Guest'. The feature film gave a wake-up call to the zombie genre, which was - pardon the pun - kind of dead. As a success, the saga of protagonist Alice (Milla Jovovich) gained another five films, which were not so successful, but fans followed the then "conclusion". Lo and behold, in 2021 we have a new story: 'Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City' - which is also based on the video game series. This time, the aura of horror movie is taken to another level with the direction of Johannes Roberts ('Deep Fear'). Yes, there are some thrills, but they even fit the tone of the feature film. The production is quite worthy, has intense action sequences and some funny moments, it's worth it if you're interested in the genre. And the cast, made up of Kaya Scodelario (from the 'Maze Runner' saga), Robbie Amell ('Code 8: Renegades'), Hannah John-Kamen ('Black Swan Rising'), delivers a great job.

The Nightman a dramatic thriller that explores the dangerous boundary between love and darkness. Abigail
Abigail demonstrates why we should keep an eye on the director duo Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, especially when they have original material at their disposal (they also directed Scream 5 and 6, with mixed results). Abigail is a film that manages to balance the terror and tragedy of its characters with the absurdity of its premise, thanks to a clever script that plays with the conventions of vampire literature, careful direction, and a phenomenal cast (led by Mexican actress Melissa Barrera and Dan Stevens) that fully utilizes their roles. The plot follows a group of kidnappers tasked with a delicate job: to kidnap a millionaire's daughter for ransom. However, it all turns out to be a trap: beneath the guise of a 12-year-old girl, the victim is actually an ancient vampire who likes to play with her food. Like Ready or Not in its time, this film is self-aware, pushing its story and violence to the most absurd and fun limits without falling into self-parody. It won’t change the history of horror cinema, but it’s an excellent (and even stylish for a film of its genre, I dare say) choice for a fun time at the movies with friends.
