Why watch this film?

Every once in a while, we need a movie that just makes us feel good and fills us with optimism. That's exactly the intention of 'Blinded by the Light', the new feature from director Gurinder Chadha ('Bend It Like Beckham' and 'Viceroy's House'), where a coming-of-age story is told through a musical journey through Bruce Springsteen's music. The movie can be, at times, cheesy and the script is predictable, but the performances are good and it's easy to relate to, whether you're familiar with "The Boss"'s music or not. The musical scenes break away from the reality of the film, but serve to convey the idea of how one person's art, in this case their music, can permeate and change another person's life.
