Why watch this film?

Have you heard or read that Adam Sandler's truly great and complex performances can be counted on one hand? Well, this is one of them. Written and directed by Judd Apatow ('Knocked Up', 'The Forty-Year-Old Virgin', 'Freaks and Geeks'), 'Funny People' is one of his most mature dramedies, one that deals with serious issues about life, death, and friendship, allowing Adam Sandler to bring out histrionic talents that we've only seen in a few other films, like 'Punch-Drunk Love'. He's also accompanied by Seth Rogen and Leslie Mann, who also do a great job in their dramatic roles without losing the humor.
