Fans of the long-running fighting video game franchise 'Mortal Kombat' know all too well that its cinematic adaptations have not always hit the mark, starting with the first eponymous movie in 1995, followed by the infamous 'Mortal Kombat: Annihilation', considered one of the worst films of all time. 'Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpions Revenge' marks the franchise's first animated project since the also kid-friendly series 'Mortal Kombat: Defenders of the Earth', but, unlike it, perfectly respects the essence of what made the game popular: brutal violence and blood gushing in mortal confrontations, including the famous "knockouts" known as "Fatalities". Produced by the game's development studio, NetherRealm Studios, in collaboration with Warner Bros. Animation (responsible for the acclaimed DC Animated Universe franchise), the result is the first feature film that has everything to finally fulfill gamers' dreams.

Plot summary
After the vicious slaughter of his family by stone-cold mercenary Sub-Zero, Hanzo Hasashi is exiled to the torturous Netherrealm. There, in exchange for his servitude to the sinister Quan Chi, he’s given a chance to avenge his family – and is resurrected as Scorpion, a lost soul bent on revenge. Back on Earthrealm, Lord Raiden gathers a team of elite warriors – Shaolin monk Liu Kang, Special Forces officer Sonya Blade and action star Johnny Cage – an unlikely band of heroes with one chance to save humanity. To do this, they must defeat Shang Tsung’s horde of Outworld gladiators and reign over the Mortal Kombat tournament. This is the sequel to the previous 'Scorpion's Revenge', in a story that brings back the team of heroes known to fans, who are surrounded by Shao Kahn's enemy forces - forcing Raiden and his group of warriors into an agreement to compete in the last Mortal Kombat, an event that will determine the fate of the realms. There is all the blood and violence that characterize the game series, along with some fun that entertains - even though the script is far from being good.
