The harmful effects of beauty standards built and normalized by the media for years are well known, especially in the negative impacts on the health (mental and physical) of people who fit or don't fit these standards. 'Dolcissime' is an inspiring Italian movie that fits into the trend of recent romantic comedies (such as 'Dumplin' or 'Megarrromântico', to name two recent examples) that seek to break with said physical beauty standards and the detrimental female representation on the screen, based on a premise that, unfortunately, is very frequent nowadays: bullying on social networks. More current and relevant, impossible.
