Why watch this film?

It is impossible not to draw parallels between 'Fim de Festa', the new film by filmmaker Hilton Lacerda, and 'Tatuagem', his great success. After all, in addition to the latter being a reference in the work of the Pernambuco native, it is also the origin of the fruitful partnership between the filmmaker and the excellent actor Irandhir Santos. However, the two productions could not be more different. While Tattoo is a movie about a positive future and full of possibilities, sailing in the sea of provocative narratives, 'Fim de Festa' is about the melancholy that arises after euphoria. It is the period after the parties, where fatigue sets in, doubts about the future. With an air that mixes João Ubaldo Ribeiro, Rubem Braga and Nelson Rodrigues, the story focuses on different urban types -- the deconstructed young people, the melancholic policeman -- and delves into the pains, melancholies, sufferings. While 'Tatuagem' gave an indication that things would get better after perrengues, 'Fim de Festa' brings a look of doubt. What awaits us after the euphoria?
