Trailer

Why watch this film?

It is the second feature film of French filmmaker Yann González, presented as part of the official selection of the Cannes Film Festival in 2018. 'La daga en el corazón' (also known by its English title, 'Knife+Heart') is an ambitious mix of themes and influences, with a tone that moves on a thin line between transgressive erotism and slasher terror violence, and ridiculous humor with a kitsch B-movie aesthetic: the cousin of queer cinema proposals such as the original 1977 'Suspiria' or 'El demonio neón'. The talent involved is top-notch, as in addition to the cast which includes Vanessa Paradis ('Rompecorazones'), Félix Maritaud ('Jonas') and even Mexican Noé González ('Tenemos la carne'); it has a soundtrack composed by the director's brother, Anthony Gonzalez, a member of electronic band M83.
