Why watch this film?

Independent horror movie, 'The Lodge' made a splash when it arrived in the American cinema circuit. After all, directors Severin Fiala and Veronika Franz were on a high after the acclaimed 'Goodnight Mommy', and so another disturbing production was expected. And that can certainly be found here, though in lesser doses. Telling the story of two siblings who are forced to live with their stepmother in an isolated lodge, the feature speaks of grief and the challenge of facing the new. Although the conclusion weighs too heavily on macabre paints, with a somewhat exaggerated sequence of events, it is worth following the rhythm of the film and surrendering to what is proposed -- mainly in the twists and the mystery atmosphere at the beginning of the third act. It's not a movie that will please everyone. There are exaggerations, there is violence. But those who like disturbing films will find a new one to call their own.
