Why watch this film?
With movies like The Mother, Jennifer Lopez has returned to the action genre in collaboration with Netflix. Atlas is the latest—and most ambitious—example of this partnership, featuring a story that blends science fiction set in a distant future where an android with advanced artificial intelligence (played by Shang-Chi's Simu Liu) has brought humanity close to extinction. Atlas Shepherd (Lopez), a data analyst, is drawn into a mission to capture the rogue android, with whom she shares a mysterious past, and must learn to trust machines to succeed. While its ambition is appreciated, the film places more emphasis on action—with somewhat generic execution—than on the reflective aspects of science fiction. It looks like any other generic blockbuster, but if you're looking for light entertainment, it might be for you.

Rampage
This is an action movie with lots of fighting, noise, and (we said it!), action! It's the perfect production to watch while munching on lots of popcorn. Despite its predictable formula, the special effects work very well with the performances of Dwayne Johnson ('Fast & Furious'), Naomie Harris ('Moonlight'), Malin Akerman ('Watchmen'), and Jeffrey Dean Morgan ('Watchmen') who are great and make this movie a real blockbuster.
San Andreas
In the line of classic disaster movies like 'Dante's Inferno', this movie starts off as a relatively grounded drama around speculations of a devastating natural phenomenon that may or may not happen (the fault of the same name is one of the most seismically active areas on the planet). However, once the chaos erupts, 'San Andreas' becomes a marathon of increasingly spectacular computer-generated destruction, until it stops making sense and becomes practically ridiculous, although no less impressive in its visual and sound section. All to see Dwayne Johnson ('Furious 7') do his job to save the day, backed by a solid cast that makes even the most absurd lines work: Alexandra Daddario ('Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief'), Carla Gugino ('Watchmen') and Paul Giamatti.
Journey 2: The Mysterious Island
After a mediocre first movie with Brendan Fraser, and only satisfactory box office results, the 'Journey to the Center of the Earth' franchise got a shake-up with the entry of Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson to the cast, becoming one of the first movies to put him in the middle of the jungle (later followed by movies like 'Jumanji', 'Red Alert' and 'Jungle Cruise'). The result, despite the change in protagonist, is not much different: it continues to be an enjoyable family adventure to watch, without many pretensions, and that entertains just enough. At least the chemistry is good between Josh Hutcherson and Vanessa Hudgens -- and Luis Guzmán, as always, causes a sure laugh.

Conquest of the Planet of the Apes
Colorful, futuristic sets, a relentless pace and an action-packed climax highlight the fourth episode of the legendary Apes saga, starring Roddy McDowall and Ricardo Montalban. The time is the near future. Apes have supplanted dogs and cats as household pets, and replaced servants as personal assistants - until their continual mistreatment provokes one advanced ape from the future, Caesar (McDowall), to lead a spectacular revolt.
Ultraman: Rising
Ultraman: Rising is a charming Netflix animation that puts the traditional Japanese character in the perspective of children. In the story, Ken Sato, a baseball superstar, returns to Japan to become the newest hero to take on the mantle of Ultraman. His plans go awry, however, when he is forced to raise a newborn kaiju monster, the offspring of his greatest enemy, as his own child. Sato will also have to deal with his relationship with his estranged father and the schemes of the Kaiju Defense Force. A film for the little ones, but one that also finds space to awaken the child within each of us.
Battle for the Planet of the Apes
Roddy McDowall returns as Caesar, the intelligent chimp who led an ape revolution against their human masters in the last installment, Conquest of the Planet of the Apes. Since then, humans nearly rendered themselves extinct in an all-out nuclear war, and the survivors are now beneath the well-preserved ape society. Now a benevolent leader of his people, Caesar supports a peaceful coexistence with humans, much to the dismay of his militant counterpart General Aldo (Claude Akins). When Caesar learns that new evidence regarding his parents’ murder has been found in the Forbidden City, he journeys to the bombarded wasteland with the human MacDonald (Austin Stoker) and the omniscient orangutang Virgil (Paul Williams). While he does find what he is looking for, Caesar also unwittingly awakens a flock of human survivors, who follows his group back home. While the humans prepare for a climactic battle with the apes, General Aldo prepares to challenge Caesar for control, and all hell breaks loose as we witness the BATTLE FOR THE PLANET OF THE APES.
Escape from the Planet of the Apes
Roddy McDowall and Kim Hunter reprise their roles from the original Planet of the Apes in this third chapter of the Apes saga. Two intelligent simians from the future, Cornelius (McDowall) and Zire (Hunter) travel to present-day Earth. They become instant sensations, wined and dined and treated like celebrities - until a high-level plot forces them to run for their lives!
