The fourth film from the Japanese animation team Studio Colorido (responsible for A Whisker Away), My Oni Girl is a dramatic comedy with elements of fantasy and romance, very much in line with films by directors like Makoto Shinkai. This is the story of a high school boy who is hopelessly compliant: he doesn't know how to say no. His life takes a turn when he meets a girl from the world of the Oni (Japanese demons), who comes to the human world in search of her mother and who is his complete opposite, as she always does what she wants. A beautiful fantasy to reflect on setting boundaries and following our hearts, with stunning animation by the studio.

This is an anime movie produced by Studio Colorido, one of Japan's newest animation studios, best known for 'Penguin Highway: The Mystery of the Penguins'. With a plot that will surely echo with fans of Studio Ghibli's 'The Cat Returns', 'Love of the Cat' is a story of fantasy, love, and yearning for belonging that explores much deeper topics in a very accessible way that makes it suitable for all ages. The animation is as beautiful as its story, under the joint direction of Jun'ichi Satô – known for directing the classic anime 'Sailor Moon' – and Tomotaka Shibayama – who has worked in the animation department of gems such as 'Spirited Away' and 'The Girl Who Leapt Through Time'.

Gasoline Rainbow
Gasoline Rainbow, a film selected at festivals like SXSW and Venice, is directed by brothers Bill and Turner Ross, who often blur the lines between documentary and fiction. This story is about five teenage friends from a small Oregon town who, with no major plans and school behind them, decide to embark on a journey in an old van to a place they have never been: the Pacific beach. Cheerful and optimistic, it is a portrait of Generation Z's ideals and attitudes, where the destination is not as important as the journey and the people we meet along the way.
Inside Out 2
After several creative and box office stumbles, Disney doubles down with sequels from Pixar – probably its most acclaimed studio in recent years – so it might be hard to get excited about Inside Out 2 after seeing Lightyear or Toy Story 4. However, this is a fortunate exception to the rule. Despite essentially repeating the same formula as the first installment – the protagonist, Riley, experiences many changes in her life in a very short span of time, and we see how her personified emotions deal with it – this sequel manages to take the concepts and expand them. Now, the five basic emotions must make room in Riley's mind for more complex ones, such as Anxiety (voiced in English by Maya Hawke), Envy (Ayo Edebiri), and Ennui (Adèle Exarchopoulos), among others. It doesn’t reinvent the wheel, because it doesn’t need to: the second part offers a very fun, emotional, and educational glimpse into the chaos of the human mind during puberty.
