Plot summary
12-year-old Bailey lives with her single dad Bug and brother Hunter in a squat in North Kent. Bug doesn’t have much time for his kids, and Bailey, who is approaching puberty, seeks attention and adventure elsewhere.

Cow
"Cow" could easily fall into the propaganda film category - those movies that just spew out shocking opinions to sensitize the audience without anything concrete. However, nothing of the sort. With a simple premise, filmmaker Andrea Arnold ("American Honey") takes her camera and follows the life of Luma, a Dutch dairy cow somewhere in the UK. Right at the beginning of the feature, the friendly cow has her first calf - a little calf that is quickly taken away from its mother. From there, the filmmaker shows two paths: on one side, the loneliness and painful routine of Luma; on the other, the first steps of the calf in the life of this dairy farm. Thus, "Cow" begins to delve into the routine of abuses that this farm promotes. There is a feeling that things happen even with care for those animals - the farmers listen to music, call the cows by name and not by numbers, and so on. But it still remains an environment of animal exploitation. The protagonist cow, Luma, cannot stay with her calf. She has no control over her life, her desires and body, her needs. It is a hard and painful movie, difficult to watch, and it gives you an almost immediate melancholy. So, here's a warning of sensitive content: if you don't like seeing animals suffer or things like that, it's better to stay away - despite the urgent message.

All the Silence (Todo el silencio), a Mexican drama that won the 2023 Morelia Film Festival's award for Best Actress (Adriana Llabrés), is a film that explores an uncomfortable duality for its protagonist, who is forced to make changes in her life. The plot follows a young woman (Llabrés) who divides her time between being a theater actress and teaching sign language to deaf people—despite not being hearing impaired herself. However, her life takes a turn when she discovers that she will become completely deaf. It's a story reminiscent of the acclaimed Sound of Metal, as its protagonist must learn to understand and relate to the world in entirely new ways.

Great Sertão
Driven by fierce action, dynamic intensity, and unique language this epic thriller reinvents the 1965 classic film adaptation of the 1956 novel “Grande sertão: veredas” by João Guimarães Rosa. In the concrete jungles of lawless futuristic Brazil, enemies spout slam poetry in duels as their movements remind us of parkour. The adrenaline rush breaks into three timelines: the past introduces teenager Riobaldo and handsome Diadorim, the present depicts a bloody clash and reveals sexual identities, and the future exposes Riobaldo’s deal with the devil.
Adolfo
Adolfo, the debut feature film by Mexican director Sofía Auza, tells the eccentric story that unfolds from the unexpected encounter of Momo (Rocío de la Mañana), Hugo (I'm No Longer Here's Juan Daniel García Treviño), and the cactus he carries, nicknamed "Adolfo". It is a brief and modest film that invites us to embrace the beauty of spontaneity and chance as a way to heal life's wounds. Its aesthetic is reminiscent of Wes Anderson's eccentricity in a frivolous way, and its story is not very deep. However, it is tender in its idiosyncrasy.
