This production is a origin story of shape-shifting entities, very popular in the Great Folk Tales of China - with 'The Legend of the White Snake' being the inspiration for the movie. 'White Snake 2: Green Snake' is the sequel to a Chinese animation from 2019 (called 'The Legend of the White Snake'), which follows the demon snake sisters Blanca and Verta, who can take human form. In the first feature, Blanca, the white snake, falls in love with a human named Xuan, who is a demon snake catcher. In the sequel, Blanca is in danger and now her sister will do everything to save her life from Fahai, their enemy. 'White Snake 2: Green Snake' is a very beautiful animation and paints well elements of the country's mythical culture.

This isn't a Studio Ghibli film, but it could easily be. 'Luo Xiao Hei zhan ji' is an engaging animation about a magical creature from the forest who takes the form of a cat and moves to the city. The atmosphere of the production is beautifully magical, the set design reminiscent of 'Princess Mononoke' and 'My Neighbor Totoro', both from Ghibli. It's all so well developed that you can feel the creative intent of the artists, especially with the battle scenes. The story is consistent, only at the end do we have a break in the rhythm, but it still manages to end the movie well.
