Actresses Laurie Metcalf and Saoirse Ronan manage to convey all the feeling of a troubled relationship to the movie. It is worth saying that Greta Gerwig achieved a lot of recognition, being nominated for the Oscar for Best Director with this, which is only her second feature film.
