Movies with animatronics to watch online

Cinema is, among many other definitions, a collection of resources and techniques to create believable, tangible worlds for the audience. One of the most fascinating techniques is animatronics, or robotic puppets that are highly detailed to represent animals, fantastic creatures, and other types of characters. Although they have lost popularity due to the practicality of CGI, there are still those who prefer animatronics for the skill and passion involved. Below, check out some movies with animatronics to watch online and learn more about these puppets.

For many, this is the best movie of the Star Wars saga, being cited as the "perfect middle story" for a trilogy. The hope from the previous episode fades away with a great victory for the villains, culminating in the film's bombastic revelation. A true lesson on how to make an iconic movie. Steven Spielberg's masterpiece, which started a true dinosaur craze and has, to this day, brought in billions in new movies, attractions in parks and other products. The story is based on the book by Michael Crichton, who also wrote the screenplay, where a group of scientists discover a way to bring dinosaurs back to life - and human entrepreneurship turns it into a theme park. What could go wrong, right? Spoiler: everything. Along with an interesting script and captivating cast (how can you forget Jeff Goldblum's Malcolm?), the special effects are still jaw-dropping today. A true blockbuster at its core.

Great example of 1980s pop culture, mixing humor and horror - which prompted the creation of a new age classification in the US, PG-13. The practical special effects are simple, the plot is not too elaborate, but none of this eclipses the fun the movie proposes, quite the opposite. And beware: don't get a gremlin wet, and don't feed it after midnight, ok?

An adaptation of the popular horror video game series, "Five Nights at Freddy's" takes the basic premise of the games - a security guard must survive the night shift at a children's restaurant inhabited by killer animatronics - and adds more layers to it. The story follows a conflicted security guard (Josh Hutcherson, from The Hunger Games) who takes on the questionable job to take care of his little sister and prevent her from being taken away. Amid this family drama plot, the terrifying atmosphere is somewhat lost, resulting in a rather average horror movie. However, for fans of the franchise's mythology, there's a lot to see here, so they will undoubtedly enjoy it.
