In The Owners, starring Maisie Williams (Game of Thrones), we follow a group of young adults who, in desperation for money, plan a robbery in a seemingly easy target house. When the owners return, however, the shot backfires. The owners were not who they seemed, and the plan quickly starts to go wrong and the intruders must face a hell of events to escape alive. It's not a very original or inspired movie, but it guarantees a good dose of scares and tension, an unpretentious horror that ensures the viewer's investment.
Loaded with tension and suspense, this is one of the best thrillers of the year. With a well-developed script and a great twist at the end, 'The Silencing' brings a fluid, well-tied story with the great performance of Nikolaj Coster-Waldau ('Game of Thrones'). The movie tells the story of a father whose only teenage daughter was kidnapped and since then he lives isolated and fills the existential void by saving animals and drinking more than he should. Coster-Waldau, even though he has played a difficult character in 'Game of Thrones', is quite charismatic, which makes the viewer root for him all the time.
