True Justice: Bryan Stevenson's Fight for Equality

"Movies about injustices committed in courts due to racial prejudice are common. Back then, in the classic 'To Kill a Mockingbird', this was already a theme addressed, discussed and brought to reflection. More recently, productions such as 'True Justice' and 'Just Mercy' have also brought and fed this important discussion about the fragility and structural racism in the legal system. Now, this original HBO documentary delves into the figure of Bryan Stevenson, an Alabama lawyer - who inspired the aforementioned 'True Justice', where he is played by Michael B. Jordan - who fights for racial equality in courts. Contundent, 'True Justice: Bryan Stevenson's Fight for Equality' shows the pains, extremes and urgencies of the issues addressed by the protagonist-interviewed, proving that much still needs to be done within the judicial system. A movie, therefore, that should inspire and bring important reflections on global racism."
