Why watch the movie Mandela: Son of Africa, Father of a Nation?
"Nominated for an Oscar for Best Documentary in 1996, 'Mandela: Son of Africa, Father of a Nation' (or simply 'Mandela') is a journey through the life of one of the most charismatic - and sometimes idealized - world leaders of the 20th century, Nelson Mandela, the "father of the nation" of South Africa. It's a somewhat conventional documentary, which emphasizes the most emotional moments and leaves some information gaps. However, with interviews with Mandela himself, activist (and his wife) Winnie Mandela, as well as archival footage, this documentary serves as an effective introduction to the fight for equality in the African continent. Available for free and legally on YouTube."
