"Released at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival - where it earned the Special Jury Prize - 'I Think We're Alone Now' is the fourth feature film from also cinematographer Reed Morano, best known and awarded for directing various episodes of the acclaimed series 'The Handmaid's Tale'. Between drama, suspense and science fiction, the movie approaches dystopia from a less conventional perspective: that of someone who feels more comfortable without company than surrounded by other people (something contrary, for example, to what was seen in 'Seeking a Friend for the End of the World'), making it an extraordinarily beautiful treatise on loneliness. The screenplay is the weakest aspect, since it takes a long time to get to its first twist, despite the performances of Peter Dinklage ('Game of Thrones') and Elle Fanning ('Neon Demon')."
