The Hater

"Substitute 'Rede de Ódio' with 'Sala samobójców. Hejter'. One of the major issues with social media nowadays is the unchecked and uncontrolled hate -- promoted by so-called "haters". Not to mention fake news, which moves governments, society, institutions. Now, this Polish feature film directed by Jan Komasa (from 'Corpus Christi', nominated for the Oscar for Best Foreign Film) precisely addresses the limits and dangers of this type of behavior and this internet subproduct. Cold, controversial and provocative, 'Sala samobójców. Hejter' follows the journey of a young man who takes advantage of anonymity to promote hate campaigns on the internet. However, things change when Komasa brings the consequences of this unrestrained hatred into the real world. A provocative and reflective film, which tries to connect the warning of the risks of this behavior."
