That is the exercise behind this Argentinian documentary, awarded at the International Documentary Film Festival in Buenos Aires 2019. 'Silvia' focuses on the eponymous protagonist, wife of a diplomat with whom, in appearance, she led a perfect life. Her daughter, director María Silvia Esteve, meets with her sisters to trace a path through their shared family memories, which reveals a very different reality. It is a brilliant film exercise that raises questions about the accuracy of the audiovisual record, the subjectivity of memory, and the relationships between mothers and daughters."
