Trailer
Why watch the movie A Cidade dos Piratas?
"'The City of Pirates' is one of the most iconic and celebrated comics of artist Laerte. Although it has aged a bit poorly, it is a delightful adventure to embark on the world created by the comic artist about pirates, society, colonization and more. In the homonymous movie, directed by Otto Guerra, the viewer is faced with a fragmented, differentiated, daring plot. The director, instead of just adapting the comics, puts himself inside the movie in an audacious metalinguistic exercise that unfortunately will not please everyone. After all, it is sometimes difficult to keep up with so many events, which overflow from the comics and end up hitting Guerra's creative process. One of the most daring and creative Brazilian animations, ideal for adults who grew up reading 'The City of Pirates', one of the pillars of Brazilian comics."
