Stoine has been called up and is on his way to the barracks accompanied by his father Rangel. Some tanks appear. Rangel watches them. He recalls the war in which he took part and regrets that no such "tortoises" were available at the time. Stoine explains that money is needed for purchase all of this. Rangel leaves Stoine in the hands of sergeant mayor and promises to buy a tank for his son. At home he takes a small money bag from a chest. In the bank a clerk counts the money for the rearmament of the country... The hatches of one tank open and Rangel and Stoine appear. The father begins to fire with a machine gun... But all this turns to be a dream - Rangel's wife funds him clutching the bedstead. Rangel tells her everything about the "tortoise". The two beam with satisfaction.
