Why watch the movie Kaboom?
"Kaboom is a film that has developed a cult following due to its indefinable nature: it’s, for lack of a better term, a queer comedy with apocalyptic science fiction, not too different from what Donnie Darko (USA, 2001) proposes. The plot follows a young college student (Thomas Dekker), who openly experiments with his sexuality. At the same time, he has strange dreams about two women he meets in real life, who pull him into wild situations. But is it reality, or a hallucination induced by other substances? Kaboom is a crazy, ambitious, and ironic film that echoes what it was like to become an adult during the 2000s-2010s, and it also stars actresses like Juno Temple (Ted Lasso) and Haley Bennett (Swallow).
