Jack Skellington kidnaps Santa Claus to bring Halloween to Christmas.
Trailer
Why watch this film?
Tired of scaring humans every October 31 with the same old bag of tricks, Jack Skellington, the spindly king of Halloween Town, kidnaps Santa Claus and plans to deliver shrunken heads and other ghoulish gifts to children on Christmas morning. But as Christmas approaches, Jack’s rag-doll girlfriend, Sally, tries to foil his misguided plans.
"The Nightmare Before Christmas is not only a masterful stop-motion animation but is considered a masterpiece of animation in general and, due to its theme, a cinematic classic for both Halloween and Christmas. The plot follows Jack Skellington (voiced by Danny Elfman, who also composed the music), the king of Halloween Town, who, fascinated by the vibrant Christmas Town, devises a plan to steal the holiday for his world. Conceived by Tim Burton but directed by Henry Selick (who is also known for Coraline), it is a masterpiece with a perfect balance of magical illusion and macabre perversity in both its narrative and production design, resulting in an unmatched cinematic wonder."
