Why watch the movie The Ritual?
"The Ritual is a horror film that attempts to revive the exorcism subgenre with a blend of supernatural tension, psychological drama, and remarkable performances. Starring Al Pacino—who takes on a rare horror role here—and Dan Stevens, the film builds on an intense dynamic between two very different priests: one skeptical, the other deeply traumatized. When they encounter a possessed young woman, they must confront not only the evil within her, but also the ghosts themselves. With disturbing scenes and a growing sense of dread, the film seeks to emulate a documentary tone and delivers emotionally charged horror, albeit without the intended intensity."
