Why watch the movie Universal Language?
"Universal Language – A surreal comedy awarded at the Cannes Film Festival that interweaves three seemingly unrelated stories set in an alternate Winnipeg where Farsi is spoken. The film explores themes of identity and belonging with humor and visual poetry, blending the aesthetics of the Iranian New Wave with the humor of Jacques Tati. The narrative offers a reflection on the absurdity of life, featuring a meticulously symmetrical and washed-out visual style that creates an intriguing fusion of times, places, and cultures."
