How is it to live in United States' most conservative city? Arid Zone gives the experience of being in Mesa, Arizona, considered by the MIT and the UCLA, U.S's most conservative big city.

"'Dry Zone' is the perfect documentary to watch in an election year. The production deals with the culture (and prejudice) of Mesa, elected the most conservative city in the United States according to a 2014 study conducted by UCLA (University of California) and MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology). Director Fernanda Pessoa, who lived there in her adolescence, followed the 2016 presidential elections that elected Donald Trump. The film, which received an honorable mention at the 2019 Leipzig International Documentary and Animation Festival, also known as Dok Leipzig, tackles social inequality, xenophobia, terrorism, among other issues that are common in Mesa. It is a rich and interesting production that is not afraid to show the dark side of the American dream from the point of view of a Brazilian."
