Black Box

"Amazon Prime Video has partnered with Blumhouse Productions to launch a collection of horror and suspense films on their platform. 'Black Box' is one of the releases. With the style, story, and message typical of Netflix's 'Black Mirror' series, this feature film by Emmanuel Osei-Kuffour (from the short 'Born With It') tells the story of a man (Mamoudou Athie) who lost his memory in an accident - while his wife tragically died. So now he tries to find the lost memories. It is a concise film, with some serious limitations, and it seems unable to go beyond this "Black Mirror" style. Without a doubt, much of the audience will feel somewhat uncomfortable with such similarity. However, those who like stories that follow the line of the series will find here a full plate of moral dilemmas, science fiction, and a twist at the end. The absolute highlight ends up being Mamoudou Athie, from 'The Circle', who ends up being the great responsible for the transformation of the narrative."
