Love Like the Falling Rain

"Despite Indonesia being known for its independent drama-focused cinema, good examples of more popular genres are also being produced in the Asian country. This is the case with the charming 'Seperti Hujan Yang Jatuh Ke Bumi', a romantic comedy about two friends who don't know if they should stay just friends or take the leap into a real romance. There are several clichés used here, which should help the audience accustomed to American stories to dive into the narrative. On the other hand, it is commendable the way director Lasja Fauzia (‘Mika’) inserts details and aspects of Indonesian culture into the plot. An ideal movie for fans of romantic comedies, but that brings a different look at how romance, friendship, and relationships happen outside the US."
